Flower Cupcakes ❀❧

With summer coming to an end and a friend’s birthday happening, it was another excuse to make and decorate cupcakes!  Thus, happy and fun cupcakes, a.k.a. Flower Cupcakes!

I made the flower petals out of white chocolate, melted down and dipped onto the back of spoons for the shape.  At first, I used sturdy plastic spoons, but they were too hard to bend when trying to pop off the solidified chocolate.  I then tried it again on cheap little plastic forks, which made the chocolate removal infinitely easier!

These cupcakes were really easy to make, the hardest part being getting the chocolate off the back of the spoon without cracking or chipping the petal.  After some practice and using the right spoons, I was churning them out!

The finished product was satisfactory, in my opinion.  I’m a bit of a perfectionist and I didn’t like the non-smooth edges of some petals.  It was a combination of the edges chipping off when removing the chocolate from the spoon and also not dipping the spoon evenly.  But on the flip side, I did really like how incredibly glassy the surface of the petals looked!
