Lil’ Baby Buzz Lightyear (crocheted)

Right when I saw a photo online of this crocheted little guy, I knew I had to make it!  It’s a baby Buzz Lightyear!

Lovin’ Some Loafers

Ever since I crocheted a pair of baby booties, which turned out very cute, I’ve wanted to make some for myself.  Sadly, they don’t look the same when enlarged for an adult sized foot.  However, I found a free pattern for moccasins!  The first one I made was a tad bit small and then I must have overcompensated for the second one, which turned out a little big…  Regardless, I’m happy with how they turned out!

(they look better on – less lumpy – than in the picture)

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow! ♪♫

Unfortunately, we don’t all live in places that have white winters and get to experience snow days, make snowmen, have snowball fights, etc.  Therefore, I decided to make my own snow, sort of.  Given that I can’t control the weather and I had extra yarn lying around (after sizing down my crocheted collar mentioned in my previous post), I crocheted a little snowflake and plan to turn it into an ornament to hang on the Christmas tree for next year!  And the gold sparkle of the yarn gave it that extra little something!

The free pattern for the snowflake can be found here!

Pop the (Peter Pan) Collar

I’ve fallen behind on blogging lately, so it’s time for a little bit of catch up…

Continuing on my recently renewed knitting/crocheting hobby, about two months or so ago, I saw an absolutely adorable photo on Pinterest of a crocheted, lace-looking collar.  Combining my fondness for crocheting, lace, and peter pan collars, I had to try it out!

Crocheting memories

I’ve been on a knitting/crocheting kick lately.  Since I had extra yarn after finishing my scarf and then seeing a picture of a crocheted circle frame on Pinterest, I wanted to give it a try.  There was no pattern, so I just made it up as I went along.  I cut a circular ring out of cardboard and crocheted around it for the main base.  That proved to be tricker than I expected, with the yarn getting knotted around the cardboard.  After that, I just made a round of single crochets and another round of double crochets with about 8 per curve to create the scalloped edge.  I didn’t actually count stitches or cut out a perfect circle, but I think it came out okay.

Crocheted circle frame

Once the frame was complete, I glued a photo onto a piece of cardboard and cut out a circle.  To attach the photo to the frame, I sewed them together, along the edge of the cardboard.  Finally, I sewed on a loop of braided thread so it can be hung as a wall frame.

Baby, it’s cold outside!

So it’s finally winter and plenty cold outside.  And what better way to stay warm than with a scarf!  I recently found a really pretty, soft blue yarn and got it for 50% off with a Michaels coupon!  Besides getting things on sale/for free, I also love lacy things and I found a beautiful (free!) pattern from the blog A Spoonful of Sugar.

Honestly, it’s been a few years since I last knitted.  I tried following the pattern, but managed to get confused.  After starting over twice, I decided to do it visually, based on the pictures.  It all worked out in the end!  I also sewed on two buttons to create an optional infinity scarf look.  The button placement turned out a little odd, but I’m too lazy to redo them.  And since the scarf has holes everywhere, I can put the buttons through any of them to create different looks or to keep the scarf in place!  Overall, it’s not too shabby!

– Happy Holidays and keep warm!
