Top of the A-Line Skirt

Spring has sprung, the weather is warming, and summer is fast approaching!  Everything seems more colorful and vibrant!  Recently, I was perusing through a fabric shop when an interesting patterned fabric caught my eye.  I guess I would describe it as an Aztec or tribal print, which I don’t usually wear, but I thought it’d be nice for spring/summer.


I decided to make an A-lined skirt.  This was a big time for firsts for me: the first time I made a skirt, made a lining, and sewn with a fabric that required matching the pattern at the seams.

A Passion for the Peplum

I love the look of the currently trendy peplum top.  I’ve wanted to buy one for some time now, but could never find one with the right style, color, and price.  Being kind of cheap and having a handy-dandy sewing machine, I decided to go ahead and try to make my own.

Summer sewing

So I’ve spent part of the summer season attempting to learn how to sew clothes from the internet.  So far, I’ve made a pair of shorts, two t-shirts, two dresses, and a skirt.  I don’t know if I’d actually wear half of this stuff in public, partially because I fear my clothing (with my sewing job) will accidently start falling apart and I’d be left naked and I’m usually just a jeans and sweatshirt type of girl.  But I guess a little style change up every now and then wouldn’t hurt…

Sheesh! I have come to the conclusion that I am not a photogenic person. It took forever to get just these two passable photos. I have a new appreciation for models. I’ll stick to being behind the camera!
